Vaccinations
Animal must be vaccinated against rabies.
- Have your animal micro-chipped with a brand accepted by the International Standards Organization (Standard 11784 or Annex A to standard 11785 with the ISO Standard Chip prior to the animal receiving a rabies vaccination.
- Animal must have a rabies blood test (FAVN or RFFIT) done at least one (1) month after vaccination. This test must be done at an approved laboratory, and Original Laboratory Results must sent directly via email by the Laboratory to the Office of the Chief Veterinary Officer at: aphmalmr@gmail.com
- Intact dogs must be tested negative for Brucella canis.
- Animals must be treated for internal and external parasites prior to export.
- Names of all countries where the animal has resided for the six months prior to export must be provided on the health certificate.
- Apply to the Trinidad and Tobago Office of the Chief Veterinary Officer at aphmalmr@gmail.com for an import permit at least (1) one month in advance of your planned travel date, and ensure you have an import permit prior to entry.
- An international health certificate must be issued by a USDA Accredited Veterinarian and endorsed by USDA within (7) days of arrival to Trinidad and Tobago.
- Notify the Veterinary Officer, Quarantine, Veterinary Services, telephone (868) 693-2910 and nadcaph2013@gmail.com at least two (2) working days before the scheduled time of arrival.
Certifications
An international health certificate must be issued by a USDA Accredited Veterinarian and endorsed by USDA within (7) days of arrival to Trinidad and Tobago.
- The endorsed health certificate can be printed out directly from VEHCS and does not have to be mailed back to you. The printed, endorsed health certificate must accompany the animal(s) during shipment or travel.
Microchip
Have your animal micro-chipped with a brand accepted by the International Standards Organization (Standard 11784 or Annex A to standard 11785 with the ISO Standard Chip prior to the animal receiving a rabies vaccination.
