Vaccinations
Description:

Per USDA APHIS Option 2 for pet birds to the EU: pre-export isolation and avian influenza H5/H7 testing requirements apply.

  • The bird must be isolated from other birds for at least 14 days prior to export.
  • The bird must test negative for Avian Influenza H5/H7 (virus isolation or RT‑PCR) performed by an NVSL or NAHLN-approved laboratory.
Certifications
Description:

A USDA Accredited Veterinarian must examine the bird and complete the EU pet bird health certificate shortly before departure; USDA APHIS must endorse it.

  • Certificate must be issued by a USDA Accredited Veterinarian within 48 hours of travel or the last working day prior to departure.
  • USDA APHIS must endorse the certificate before travel.
Microchip

Birds must have an official identification (e.g., leg band, microchip/transponder, clip, or tag) recorded on the health certificate.
