Korea
Ferrets Regulations
Vaccinations
Personal pet ferrets must meet Korea’s rabies control requirements similar to dogs and cats, including current vaccination and an RNAT result of at least 0.5 IU/mL from an approved laboratory. Confirm any exemptions for APQA-designated rabies-free regions with APQA before travel.
- Current rabies vaccination prior to entry.
- Rabies-neutralizing antibody test (RNAT) result ≥ 0.5 IU/mL from an approved laboratory.
- RNAT performed after microchip implantation.
- Carry the original RNAT laboratory report at entry.
Certifications
Provide a health certificate issued by the exporting country’s government authority. For U.S. origin pets, use the USDA APHIS “Veterinary Health Certificate for Export of Pet (Personal) Ferrets to Korea,” completed by a USDA-accredited veterinarian and endorsed by USDA.
- Government-issued health certificate accompanies the ferret at arrival.
- For U.S. origin: USDA APHIS Korea ferret certificate completed and USDA-endorsed.
Microchip
An ISO 11784/11785-compliant microchip must be implanted before rabies vaccination; the chip number must be included on all documents.
Origin Requirements
No origin-specific requirements for this pet.
