Vaccinations
Rabies vaccination is required for entry to Great Britain (which includes the Isle of Man). The pet must be microchipped before vaccination.
- Your pet must be microchipped before receiving the rabies vaccination.
- Wait at least 21 full days after the primary rabies vaccination before entering Great Britain.
- Keep booster vaccinations up to date per the manufacturer’s schedule; a new 21‑day wait is not required if the previous rabies vaccination was still valid when the booster was given.
Certifications
Use a Great Britain pet health certificate (issued by an official veterinarian in the country of departure) or travel on a valid EU pet passport (issued in the EU), as per GOV.UK guidance.
- The GB pet health certificate must be used to enter Great Britain within 10 days of the date it was issued.
- The certificate/passport must show the microchip number and valid rabies vaccination; for dogs, it must also record tapeworm treatment where required.
- For travelers from the United States, the USDA APHIS non‑commercial GB health certificate must be endorsed by APHIS before travel.
Microchip
Dogs, cats and ferrets must be identified with a microchip meeting ISO 11784/11785, implanted before the rabies vaccination.
Origin Requirements
No origin-specific requirements for this pet.
