Designated AQCS entry ports include Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad.
Scope under baggage rules
Under India’s baggage rule, only dogs and cats qualify as pets. Other species generally require a DGFT import license.

The Sanitary Import Permit primarily pertains to animal products and is generally not required for pet dogs and cats imported under the baggage rule.
SOPs and checklists
AQCS publishes detailed SOPs for importing pet dogs and cats and a checklist for import/re-import under baggage or license. Refer to these for current document and process requirements.
