Vaccinations
Description:

Rabies vaccination is required for entry to Estonia under EU pet travel rules.

  • Primary rabies vaccination must be administered by a veterinarian and be at least 21 days old at the time of entry.
  • If arriving from a high-rabies-risk (unlisted) non-EU country, a rabies antibody titration test (≥0.5 IU/ml) performed at an EU-approved laboratory is required; the blood sample must be taken at least 30 days after vaccination and a 3‑month waiting period from the sampling date applies before entry.
Certifications
Description:

Pets entering from outside the EU must be accompanied by the EU model veterinary certificate for non-commercial movement. The certificate must be issued by an official veterinarian and endorsed by the competent authority of the exporting country.

  • Use the EU model certificate for dogs/cats/ferrets provided by the Estonian Agriculture and Food Board (PTA).
  • The owner's declaration of non‑commercial movement must accompany the certificate.
  • The certificate is valid for entry into the EU for 10 days from the date of issue.
Microchip

Pet must be identified with a microchip compliant with ISO 11784/11785, implanted before the rabies vaccination. If the microchip is not ISO‑compatible, the owner should provide a reader at entry.
