Vaccinations
Non-commercial entry follows EU rules as implemented by the Czech State Veterinary Administration (SVS). A valid rabies vaccination is required. Conditions differ by origin: EU Member States/Norway, listed third countries, or non-listed third countries. SVS notes that Russia and Belarus are treated as non-listed from 16 September 2024 under Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/1130.
- Animal must have a valid rabies vaccination at the time of entry.
- Animal must be identified before vaccination; the primary vaccination must meet EU validity/wait-period rules before travel.
- For movements from non-listed third countries, rabies antibody titration (serology) and related timing requirements apply under EU rules.
Certifications
For movements from EU Member States and Norway, identification and vaccination details are recorded in an EU Pet Passport issued by an authorised veterinarian.
- EU Pet Passport with identification and valid rabies vaccination entries for eligible movements.
Microchip
Animal must be identified by a microchip. A clearly readable tattoo applied before 3 July 2011 may be accepted. Identification must be applied before rabies vaccination. If the microchip is not ISO‑compatible, the owner may need to provide a suitable reader.
