VEHCS electronic endorsement/signatures are accepted; travel with a printed copy of the endorsed certificate.

  • If originating in the U.S.: have a USDA-Accredited Veterinarian complete the APHIS Chile bird certificate and obtain USDA-APHIS endorsement (VEHCS accepted).
  • Carry a printed copy of the endorsed certificate during travel and present it to SAG on arrival.

Entry port and quarantine

Per SAG rules (Resolución SAG N° 5.733/2017), pet birds must comply with designated entry and quarantine procedures.

  • Enter Chile with pet birds only via Santiago International Airport (SCL).
  • Undergo a 21-day post-arrival quarantine at the SAG Lo Aguirre facility.
