Vaccinations
Dogs and cats are subject to rabies control requirements per OF‑IMP‑1. Rabies vaccination is required and timing/validation (including whether a rabies antibody titre test is needed) depends on the country risk category listed in the official conditions. Verify your origin country's current category and follow all vaccination and, where applicable, titre test timing rules before travel.
- Rabies vaccination must be administered in accordance with the official conditions and after permanent identification (microchip).
- Some origins require a valid rabies antibody titre (RNATT/FAVN) meeting the specified threshold and timing in OF‑IMP‑1.
- Follow any minimum waiting periods between vaccination, titre (if required), and travel as stated in OF‑IMP‑1.
Certifications
An import permit from the Cayman Islands Department of Agriculture (DoA) is required prior to entry. Carry the permit with the animal at arrival.
- Apply for and obtain the DoA import permit before travel.
- Ensure the permit details match the animal and travel itinerary.
Microchip
Permanent microchip identification is required and must be implanted before rabies vaccination. Use an ISO‑compliant microchip and ensure the number appears on all accompanying documents.
Origin Requirements
No origin-specific requirements for this pet.
