Vaccinations
Description:

Rabies vaccination proof is required for dogs ≥ 90 days old. If it is the first vaccination, travel is allowed only 21 days after the shot. Dogs from rabies-free countries do not need to present proof of rabies vaccination if this is stated on the IVC.

  • Dog is ≥90 days at entry → carry rabies vaccination certificate (vaccine name/type, date) issued by a licensed veterinarian and recognized by the Veterinary Authority.
  • First rabies vaccination → wait at least 21 days before travel.
  • Dog <90 days → may enter without rabies vaccination if the IVC certifies the dog was <90 days at issuance and has not been on premises with reported urban rabies cases in the past 90 days (owner statement or official epidemiology).
  • Origin is rabies-free (per WOAH) → no proof required if the IVC explicitly states rabies-free origin.
  • Keep documents in English or French/Portuguese where possible to ease inspection.
