Vaccinations
Rabies vaccination proof is required for cats ≥ 90 days old. If first vaccination, wait 21 days before travel. Cats from rabies-free countries do not need proof if this is stated on the IVC.
- Cat is ≥90 days at entry → rabies vaccination certificate with vaccine details and date.
- First rabies vaccination → wait at least 21 days before travel.
- Cat <90 days → may enter without rabies vaccination if IVC certifies age and no exposure on premises with urban rabies cases in the last 90 days.
- Origin rabies-free (per WOAH) → no proof required if the IVC states this.
Certifications
IVC/Pet Passport from the official Veterinary Authority; includes parasite treatment and exam attestations.
- Health exam within 10 days before IVC issue; animal clinically healthy and fit for transport.
- Parasite treatment (internal & external) within 15 days before IVC issue; specify active ingredients.
- IVC valid 60 days from issuance (while rabies vaccine valid).
- From the U.S.: USDA APHIS endorsement (digital via VEHCS accepted) and carry the printed endorsed certificate.
Microchip
Brazil does not require a microchip for entry. Airlines or transit countries might; check carrier/transit rules.

Present an International Veterinary Certificate (IVC) / Pet Passport issued or endorsed by the official Veterinary Authority (not private vet only). IVC validity: 60 days from issuance while rabies vaccination remains valid. Electronic issuance/digital USDA endorsement is accepted (from the U.S.).
