Description:

Rabies vaccination is required for animals aged 90 days or older. If it is the first rabies vaccination, entry is allowed only after a 21-day waiting period. Animals from rabies-free origins do not need rabies vaccination if the International Veterinary Certificate (IVC) explicitly states the rabies-free status. Puppies/kittens under 90 days may enter without rabies vaccination if additional conditions on the IVC are met.

Official Pet Passports are accepted only from countries that reciprocally accept Brazil’s Pet Passport; the European Pet Passport is not valid to enter Brazil. From the U.S., USDA APHIS endorsement is required; digital endorsement via VEHCS is accepted.

Clinical examination: performed within 10 days prior to IVC issuance; the animal is clinically healthy and fit for transport.
Parasite treatments: broad-spectrum internal and external parasite treatments administered within 15 days prior to IVC issuance; list active ingredients on the certificate.
IVC validity: 60 days from the date of issuance, provided the rabies vaccination remains valid for the entire travel period.
From the United States: obtain USDA APHIS endorsement (digital endorsement via VEHCS accepted); carry the printed endorsed certificate with the animal.
