Tick/External Parasite Treatment

Tick treatment is required at the pre-travel exam using an acceptable acaricidal product with residual action (Bermuda lists acceptable and unacceptable products).

Restricted & Prohibited Breeds

Bermuda lists restricted and prohibited dog breeds; restricted breeds require additional conditions and pre-approval.

Inspection & Quarantine

Bermuda has no quarantine facility. Animals failing inspection or lacking proper documents are refused entry/deported; authorities may seize/humanely destroy in rare cases if directions are not followed.

Documents & Submission

Bring the Import Permit and original certificates for Customs inspection on arrival. If the veterinary certificate is electronically signed, it must be sent directly by the veterinary facility.

Customs & Duties

Customs duty may be up to 25% of the animal’s value; rules may differ for visiting versus resident animals.

Notes

Where wording differs between APHIS forms and Bermuda’s current conditions, defer to Bermuda DENR documents. Acceptance of 3-year rabies formulations is not specified online—contact DENR for guidance.
