Service Animals (In-Cabin & Support)

Sunwing Airlines accepts one service dog in training per trainer or handler at no charge on eligible flights, subject to the following conditions:

• Only service dogs in training are accepted; no other species.
• Service dog in training must be at least eight weeks old.
• Service dogs in training may not travel with unaccompanied minors.
• Space for service dogs in training cannot be reserved online.
• Requests made within 48 hours before flight departure will be accommodated when reasonable.
• Service dogs in training are not permitted in emergency exit rows or to occupy an empty seat.
• Dogs exceeding safe size and weight limits may be denied transport in any cabin.
• Service dogs in training must wear a harness, vest, collar and leash, or be inside a kennel identifying them as service animals in training.

Breed, weight, length, height, and width information is required to determine accommodation needs.

Sunwing Airlines does not assume responsibility for service dogs in training that are not accepted for travel.

• Only service dogs and emotional support dogs are permitted on board.
• No other type of service or emotional animals are allowed.
• Additional forms and documentation are required, including training certification, updated vaccine records and/or physician’s letters.
• Each country may have different requirements for travelling with pets.
• Dogs must travel at the feet of the owner, who must be seated by the window.
• All dogs must be properly harnessed.
• Dogs that pose a threat to the health and safety of the cabin crew or other guests will not be allowed on board.
• Service dogs must be certified by a licensed professional service animal institution.
• After booking, fill out the Special Services Form on My Booking Portal.
• Required documentation must be sent at least 48 hours prior to departure for approval.
• For emotional support dogs, an original letter from a licensed mental health professional dated within one year of your departure date is required.
• Emotional support animals are not permitted on Sunwing Airlines flights operating on a WestJet aircraft.
