Service Animals:

Service Animals (In-Cabin & Support)

National Airlines accepts service animals accompanying qualified individuals with a disability at no extra charge.

  • Service animals must remain on the floor in front of the passenger’s assigned seat or in an approved in-cabin kennel for smaller animals.
  • Exit row seating is prohibited for passengers traveling with service animals.
  • Service animals must be properly harnessed for the duration of the flight.
  • Small animals may be held in the passenger’s lap during the flight.
  • If a carrier is used, it must meet USDA guidelines and fit under the seat.

Passengers traveling with psychiatric, therapeutic, or emotional support animals must provide documentation from a licensed medical or mental health professional.

  • The form expires one (1) year after the signature date of the licensed professional.
  • Additional validation may be requested for travel in or out of an international airport.
  • Verification of documentation includes National Airlines contacting the identified mental health care professional.

National Airlines accepts emotional support and psychiatric assist animals in the cabin for qualified individuals with a disability, provided documentation requirements are met.

  • The animal must remain on the floor in front of the passenger’s assigned seat or in an approved in-cabin kennel for smaller animals.
  • Exit row seating is prohibited for passengers traveling with these animals.
  • A minimum 48-hour advance notification to National Airlines is required.

In-Cabin Carrier Details

National Airlines accepts small dogs and cats in the passenger cabin under these conditions:

  • No more than four pets are accepted per flight on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Passengers must notify National at least 48 hours before departure and pay a one-way $50 pet fee.
  • The pet must be contained in a carrier that fits underneath the seat in front of the passenger.
  • The pet must be at least 10 weeks old, harmless, odorless, and require no attention during transit.
  • The pet’s passenger companion may not be an Unaccompanied Minor.

  • Pets cannot accompany unaccompanied minors.
  • National Airlines can deny boarding to any pet that misbehaves or doesn't meet the listed standards.
  • International travel may have additional restrictions, including potential refusal of pet entry by the destination country. It is the passenger's responsibility to know these rules.
  • National Airlines will have no liability should the destination country deny entry to the pet.
