Pet Policy Summary
- Eligible pets: cats and dogs travel in cabin only. JSX separates rules for small pets in carriers and medium-to-large dogs.
- Small pets: cats and small dogs must weigh less than 30 lb and fit comfortably in an approved carrier under the seat. The in-cabin pet fare is $100 one way.
- Carrier rules: approved carrier maximum is 13 in wide x 11 in high x 17 in long/deep. Carriers must be leak-proof and well ventilated, count as one personal item, stay under the seat, and may not be placed on a seat, in a bulkhead, emergency exit row, aisle, closet, compartment, or overhead bin.
- Small pet limits: one pet per carrier and one carrier per customer. Cats must remain in the carrier at all times. Small dogs must remain in the carrier during takeoff, landing, and when instructed, but may be removed during flight if kept under control within the customer seating area.
- Medium-to-large dogs: dogs under 80 lb may travel in cabin when the customer purchases an adjoining seat. The dog must lie on the floor space in front of the adjoining seat, remain leashed, and may not occupy an aircraft seat.
- Capacity and behavior: a maximum of five pets may travel in cabin on a flight, excluding trained service animals. Pets must be well-behaved, non-aggressive, properly groomed, and not disruptive.
- Service animals: JSX welcomes trained service dogs. Customers must use the service-animal form instead of the pet form. Service animals must remain under control, fit within the seat footprint, and are prohibited from emergency exit rows and aisles.
- Emotional support animals: therapy or emotional support animals are not accepted as service animals, but may travel as pets if they meet JSX pet policy requirements.
- International travel: customers traveling outside the U.S. with pets must comply with destination requirements. For Mexico/U.S. return travel, JSX references the CDC Dog Import form and CDC dog import guidance.
