Service Animal Policy

• Service dogs such as guide dogs, hearing dogs, diabetic alert dogs, mobility assistance dogs, and autism service dogs are welcome on board free of charge.
• Service animals are defined as dogs individually trained to perform tasks for a qualified individual.
• Documents are required to add a service dog to your booking.

Checked/Cargo Pet Transport Rules

Note: From November 1, 2024, animals cannot be transported in the hold on international flights. Domestic flights within Iceland still allow animal transport in the hold.

• Animals must be transported in hard plastic crates with waterproof bottoms that meet IATA guidelines.
• Collapsible metal or folding fabric crates are not accepted.
• Crate must allow the animal to stand, turn, and lie down naturally.
• Maximum 2 crates per aircraft, each with a combined weight (animal + crate) up to 110 lbs (50 kg).
• Two animals of the same species may share a crate if size is appropriate.
• Maximum crate dimensions: 36 in (92 cm) length, 25 in (64 cm) width, 27 in (71 cm) height.
• Animals travel in a special climate-controlled transport area in the hold.
• Animals sent as cargo must arrive at the airport at least one hour before departure.
• Fee: 7,500 ISK per crate, non-refundable.

Distressed animals making excessive noise will not be allowed on board. Sedatives are recommended after consulting a veterinarian.
