Booking Procedure

Submit a booking form at least seven days in advance.
Email all required documents no later than 72 hours before your flight.
If flying to Abu Dhabi, apply for a release permit for your pet and complete a UAE Health Certificate.
UAE Health Certificates must be signed and stamped by a government-accredited health official in your country of departure within five days before your flight.
For Business travel with pets, call to check for pet-friendly seats availability.

Cost

It costs $1,500 or 215,000 Etihad Guest Miles each way to travel with your cat or dog in Economy.
Additional costs for extra seats in Economy and Business.

Rules for Travelling with Pets

Pets are allowed to travel in Economy and Business only.
Pets must sit in their carrier at all times, either under your seat or on an adjacent seat.
Carriers must not exceed certain dimensions based on seating.
Pets must be at least 16 weeks old and weigh no more than 8kg including their carrier.
Pet owners must be at least 18 years old.

Important Information

Trained Service Dogs

Travel with one trained service dog on board, or two on flights from the U.S.
Psychiatric support dogs only permitted on direct flights from the U.S.
Service dogs are not permitted on flights from China.
Dogs must not display disruptive behaviour to be accepted in the cabin.
Dogs trained for emotional support, comfort, companionship, or service dogs in training are not permitted as trained service dogs.
Service dogs must sit with you and be harnessed or leashed at all times.
Keep your service dog license with you at all times (excludes flights from the U.S.).

Pets must be at least 16 weeks old and weigh up to 8kg including carrier.
Pets permitted in their carrier in Economy and Business class.
Passengers must be at least 18 years old to travel with a pet.
Passengers with pets must not sit in exit row or bulkhead seats.
Maximum carrier size: 40 x 40 x 22 cm (L x W x H) to fit under seat, or 50 x 43 x 50 cm if an extra seat is purchased.
Carrier must be ventilated on at least three sides, big enough for pet to move and lie down.
Carrier must be escape and leak-proof and lined with absorbent material.
