China Cargo Airlines requires careful preparation and awareness of conditions affecting pets during transport.

  • Separation from Owner: After check-in, you will not have access to your pets until delivery at the destination due to customs and quarantine regulations. Separation may last days or weeks depending on journey duration and procedures.
  • Pet Anxiety: Prolonged separation and unfamiliar environments may cause anxiety in pets.
  • Noise Exposure: Pets may be exposed to loud noises up to 115dB before and during the flight.
  • Unfamiliar Environment and Limited Space: Storage areas have high vehicular, human, and shipment traffic. It is recommended to familiarize pets with crates or similar carriers beforehand to reduce anxiety.
  • Loading Environment: Pets may be placed outdoors temporarily (about 1 hour) before loading. A designated container shields them from direct sunlight and precipitation, but temperature and humidity changes may occur.
  • In-Flight Conditions: Pets travel in the cargo compartment where atmospheric pressure, temperature, and humidity are similar to the cabin.
  • Feeding and Watering: Provide sufficient food and water for the entire journey. Pets should be able to eat and drink without assistance. Training pets to use water feeders in advance is advised.
  • Snub-Nosed Dogs and Cats: These pets are at higher risk of breathing problems and overheating. Additional precautions and regulations apply for their transport.
  • Quarantine Regulations: Entry of dogs from high rabies-risk countries/regions into the U.S. and Canada is prohibited.
