Checked Baggage Pet Transportation

• Pets and their carriage can only be carried in the hold of the aircraft.
• Animals in Hold (AVIH) are transported as checked baggage in the aircraft hold.
• Transportation accepted only if the animal is carried in a leak proof cage.
• Maximum cage size: 100×60×75 cm (length × width × height).
• Maximum combined weight of pet and carrier: 25 kg.
• Only rigid containers with a secure door are acceptable.
• The container must be large enough to permit the animal to stand in a natural position, turn around and lie down.
• Pet must have a pet passport or veterinary certificate.
• Pet fee is GHS250 plus any excess baggage charges if the combined weight exceeds free baggage allowance.
• The number of live animals accepted on each flight is two (2).
• Accepted animals: domestic animals such as dogs, cats, birds; small warm-blooded animals such as guinea pigs, hamsters, rabbits.
• Not accepted: domestic animals of unusual size, wild animals, reptiles, and rodents.
• Pets should always travel accompanied.

Pets must be booked at PassionAir offices or by calling the call center at least 48 hours before the flight.
