In-Cabin Carrier Details

Allegiant Air welcomes small live animals/pets in the aircraft cabin within the contiguous 48 United States. Travel to international destinations and U.S. territories may not accept all pets.

  • Only domestic dogs and cats are allowed in the cabin.
  • All pets must be transported in a soft-sided or hard-sided enclosed leak-proof carrier; a soft-sided carrier is strongly suggested.
  • Carrier size limit: 8" H x 14" W x 18" L, fully closeable to contain the pet.
  • Maximum of 2 pets per carrier.
  • A pet carrier counts as one of your maximum two carry-on items.
  • You may travel with a pet carrier plus either a personal item or a paid carry-on bag, but not both.
  • A non-refundable fee of $50.00 per segment per carrier applies.
  • Each paid traveler may have only one pet carrier.
  • All animals must be at least eight (8) weeks old.
  • Pets must remain entirely in the carrier at the airport and onboard, handled only by the traveler.
  • Pet carriers/kennels must be placed under the seat during taxi, take-off, and landing.
  • Animals must be harmless, non-disruptive, odorless, and not ill, violent, or in physical distress.
  • Pets must fit comfortably in the carrier without touching or protruding, and be able to stand up and turn around.
  • Passengers with pets may not sit in exit rows or bulkhead seats.
  • Pet carriers are prohibited in aisle seats on Boeing aircraft; passengers will be relocated if an aisle seat is selected.
  • Passengers with pets must check in with an Allegiant agent at least one (1) hour prior to departure to ensure compliance.
  • Allegiant does not transport animals in the cargo bin.
  • A health certificate is not required.
  • Allegiant assumes no responsibility for the health and well-being of pets in the cabin.
  • Contact TSA.gov for information on clearing TSA security with a pet.
  • Passengers who do not comply with these guidelines may be denied boarding.
  • U.S. active and reserve duty military and veterans may bring up to one (1) pet in cabin.
