Service Animals (In-Cabin & Support)

Air Europa follows specific guidelines for foreign-vaccinated service dogs entering the United States.

  • Service dogs vaccinated abroad and only in rabies-free or low-risk countries during the past 6 months are not required to visit an Animal Care Facility (ACF) upon U.S. arrival.
  • Inform the ACF that your dog is a service dog when making your reservation and request expedited examination and revaccination, subject to availability.
  • Make advance arrangements with both the airline and the ACF for transportation of your service dog to the ACF.
  • To avoid quarantine, ensure your dog has a valid rabies serology titer from a CDC-approved laboratory before arriving in the U.S.
  • Foreign-vaccinated service dogs may arrive by seaport without an ACF reservation if they meet all other requirements, including a valid rabies serology titer.
  • Dogs arriving by sea must travel with the person with a disability whom the dog assists.
  • Foreign-vaccinated dogs, including service dogs, that have been in a high-risk country in the past 6 months are not allowed to enter the U.S. at land border crossings.

Required documentation includes:

  • Completed Certification of Foreign Rabies Vaccination and Microchip form
  • Valid rabies serology titer from a CDC-approved laboratory
  • CDC Dog Import Form receipt listing the port of arrival

A service dog is not considered to have been in a high-risk country if it remains on a cruise ship (does not disembark) when the ship stops at a port in a high-risk country.
